From what I understand, its really a matter of waiting on Fantasy Grounds to OK it, but what's taking the men so long I have no Idea. Personally, I think their missing a pretty big wave of Star Trek Interest with all the projects on TV now.
Both Nerdeye and Smiteworks (makers of FG) are quite small operations. I'm not sure exactly how many people "Nerdeye" actually is ... but I think only one person is working on this STA Ruleset and that's not their day job. This is more of a passion project than a "job" for them. I might be wrong, but I thought I read this information somewhere.
As for Smiteworks/FG ... they consist of less than 10 salaried employees, and of them, not all of them are even full-time. Most of the conversion-work is done by independent contractors and because user demand drives attention, most of their focus is on 3 areas: FGU functionality, 5e D&D, and Pathfinder. That's 95% of the userbase of FG and they're trying to push FGU to do more and work smoother all the time, which is where most of their programmers/coders are working.
New rulesets have traditionally been made by the community or by independent contractors (like Nerdeye). And in this case, it not only has to be approved by Nerdeye and Smiteworks as functional, but Modiphius and Paramount/CBS all get a say too because it's a licensed product. I'm assuming the last part ... but it makes sense. I've been following the development of this ruleset for over a year now. It will be worth the wait I think. The Conan ruleset works great.
